Amazon's UK festive peak fulfilment fee for 2026 is £0.12 per small or standard parcel item and £0.07 per large or extra-large envelope item, charged on FBA orders delivered to UK buyers between 15 October 2026 and 14 January 2027. That is 2p more per unit than last year's 10p and 5p, and it sits on top of the 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge that has applied to UK FBA fees since 17 April 2026. If you sell through FBA, your fulfilment cost per unit goes up for the whole of Q4 and the January sales.
What Amazon has confirmed
The fee was published in Amazon's Peak season 2026 post on Seller Central in July, alongside the Q4 inventory and deal deadlines, and it is written into the FBA rate card for Europe effective 1 July 2026. The rate card shows peak and non-peak columns side by side. A standard parcel up to 150g moves from £2.94 to £3.05, a small parcel up to 400g from £3.00 to £3.11, and a large envelope up to 960g from £2.72 to £2.79. Light and standard envelopes stay at their non-peak rates.
The fee applies to local FBA orders to UK customers and to Remote Fulfilment orders sent from EU stock to UK buyers. Oversize items, Low-Price FBA items and apparel are excluded. German sellers see a separate fee of €0.27 per unit. Fees go back to the non-peak rates on 15 January 2027.
The UK figure sits inside a wider peak season post rather than the standalone fee announcement Amazon issued in 2025, so it has had less attention than last year's. It is confirmed, and has been since July.
What it costs a typical seller
The peak period runs for 13 weeks. A seller shipping 500 parcel units a week pays an extra £780 in fulfilment fees over that period (6,500 units at 12p). At 2,000 units a week the figure is £3,120. Envelope sellers pay less per unit, although 7p on a £6 accessory is a bigger share of margin than 12p on a £30 kitchen gadget.
The fee comes out of your Amazon settlement before the payout reaches your bank, so it shows up as a lower disbursement rather than an invoice. Sellers who forecast Q4 cash on last year's fee per unit will find payouts a little lighter than planned every fortnight from mid-October. Update the fee assumption in your Q4 forecast now, before stock orders and advertising budgets are locked in.
Why 12p on the fee needs about 18p on the price
Passing the fee on is not as simple as adding 12p to the listing. For a VAT-registered seller, every extra penny on the price is split three ways: one sixth goes to HMRC as output VAT, Amazon takes its referral fee on the gross price, and you keep what is left. With a 15% referral fee, an 18p increase leaves you with 15p net of VAT, less 2.7p of referral fee, which is about 12p in your pocket. Raise the price by 12p and you recover around 8p of the 12p cost.
Whether to raise prices at all is a commercial call. Peak is when conversion is highest and competitors are most likely to be discounting, so many sellers absorb the fee on hero products and recover it on accessories and repeat-purchase lines. The point is to make that decision with the numbers in front of you rather than discover the gap in January.
The Q4 dates that go with the fee
The same Seller Central post sets out the UK deadlines for the two big events. Stock for Prime Big Deal Days needs to arrive at Amazon's fulfilment centres by 16 September 2026, and deal submissions for that event close on 23 September. For Black Friday Week, inventory must arrive by 28 October 2026 and deals must be submitted by 18 November. EU deadlines are a week earlier in each case (9 September and 21 October).
Deal fees in the UK are £12 per promotion plus 0.75% of promotional sales, capped at £600. The 30% early-submission discount on the upfront fee closed on 5 September for Black Friday deals, so anything submitted from now on pays the full £12.

Three checks before 15 October
Run the FBA revenue calculator or the fee preview report on your top 20 SKUs using the peak rates and note the margin on each. Check which of those SKUs are close to a size or weight band boundary, because a product sitting just over the 400g small parcel band pays the higher band's fee plus the peak uplift, and lighter packaging can move it down a band for the whole quarter. Then rework your Q4 cash flow with the new fee per unit and the deal fees you plan to pay, so the payouts you expect in November and December match what Amazon will send.
Fulfilment fees are an allowable business expense, and for VAT-registered sellers the VAT on Amazon's fees is dealt with through the reverse charge on your VAT return. Neither point changes because of the peak fee, but a fee increase is a good prompt to check both are being handled correctly in your bookkeeping software.
Frequently asked questions
When does the Amazon peak fulfilment fee start and end in the UK?
It applies to FBA orders delivered to UK buyers from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027. Fees revert to the non-peak rates on 15 January 2027.
How much is the 2026 UK peak fulfilment fee?
£0.12 per small or standard parcel item and £0.07 per large or extra-large envelope item, according to Amazon's Seller Central post and the July 2026 rate card. In 2025 the figures were £0.10 and £0.05.
Does the peak fee apply if I fulfil orders myself?
No. It is an FBA fulfilment fee, so merchant-fulfilled orders are not affected. It does apply to Remote Fulfilment orders shipped from EU stock to UK customers.
Is the peak fee charged on top of the fuel and logistics surcharge?
Yes. The 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge introduced on 17 April 2026 continues through the peak period, and the peak fee is added to the fulfilment fee separately.
